Understanding Canine Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is a condition caused by too little thyroid hormone and is quite commonly seen in dogs. One of the most common symptoms is weight gain. Your veterinarian can screen for the health of your dog's thyroid during their annual visit and recommend treatment if a thyroid abnormality is detected.
