Little Boy Makes Incredible Recovery with the Help of Therapy Dog

Posted May 18, 2015 in A Pet's Life

In 2007, 6-year-old Caleb Howard suffered a traumatic brain injury and broken bones from a head-on, auto collision. In the video below (posted by Intermountain Therapy Animals), Caleb’s father, Ben, explains the turning point in Caleb’s recovery was when he met Colonel, the Golden Retriever therapy dog.

A few days ago, Caleb signed on with his father’s YouTube account and commented, “This video is my life. It was very difficult growing up always dealing with bone surgeries and fighting to overcome a Traumatic Brain Injury.” He goes on to say he’s doing fine now and even got a dog named Star! “There are still other people that need your love and support,” added Caleb. I encourage everyone to heed Caleb’s advice, and to support therapy animal programs in your area.

Grab some tissues and watch Caleb’s truly inspiring recovery.
