An Air Canada pilot is being hailed as a hero after his plane, traveling from Tel Aviv to Toronto, experienced a heating system malfunction in the plane’s cargo hold. In that cargo hold sat Simba, a 7-year-old French Bulldog, reports Shauna Hunt and CityNews.
The aircraft was about to cross over the Atlantic Ocean, when the pilot noticed the issue with the heat. Without proper heating, conditions could “get down to below freezing” an aviation expert told CityNews. The pilot diverted the plane to Frankfurt, Germany where Simba was placed on a new flight.
The diverted flight was delayed by about 75 minutes, reports CityNews, but passengers considered it a minor inconvenience once they found out why.
